Wednesday

Urban Bistro Healthliness

After a most decadent trip to Las Vegas (pictures forthcoming), we decided it was best to go the healthy route and have a dinner of soup, salad and gluten free thai flat bread. Ok maybe the last thing wasn't as healthy but it was delicious.

The month of amazing feasts continue filled with precious family time, more outings with the Little-No-Longers, celebration with friends and happy moments together.

Tuesday

Dear Future Self- Fair Food Madness

Dear Future Self,

It is officially summer which means it's time for some crazy fair food. Fried twinkie? That's old news. Fried oreo? Childsplay. Fairs are stepping up their game with some new fried offerings:

It's not truly summer until something is deep fried.

Katia's Russian Fare

Next stop on the food tour for the Little-No-Longers is Katia's for some Russian cuisine. Katia's is a quaint restaurant, with wonderful service and very traditional delicious Russian fare. With a table full of borsch, piroshki, eggplant caviar, salade olivier, pel'meni and blini, we were in food heaven.

And the best part of the meal...dessert of Katia's signature napoleon and syrniki, complete with a visit by the chef herself.

A wonderful meal filled with sweet and savory, family and love.

Monday

Crystal Springs Trail Run

June has only just begun and yet there have already been quite the number of celebrations. The towers of dessert and free flowing drinks translated to a need for us to do some serious running. We decided to take advantage of the breeze and sun, and run one of our favorite trails.

A great run together- bring on the next festivity!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy Birthday to my mother- a beautiful, intelligent, loving and inspirational woman. Love You!

Sunday

Local Life- Lands End and the Sutro Baths

One of the best parts of having the Little-No-Longers visit is having an excuse to play tourist. One of the first stops was to Lands End and the Sutro Baths.

<3 Family is a wonderful thing.

Little Skillet

The Little-No-Longers are visiting which means a wonderful excuse to enjoy some of the best food the bay has to offer. They came armed with a list of food they are dying to try as well as metabolisms of steel (seriously, how these two can eat so much and weigh so little is a question for science). First stop for breakfast- Little Skillet.

Little Skillet is a small walk up counter located near the ball park. It has a limited menu but really you can't go wrong with the traditional southern fare.

I was all set to order my usual chicken and waffle meal, when a special caught my eye- bacon waffle dog. Yep, it's a sausage wrapped in bacon atop a crispy waffle. Needless to say, I had to try it. What's better than chicken and waffles? Waffles and bacon!

Wednesday

Bushido

It was that lovely time of the week for bonding with the Matchmaker and we decided to hit happy hour at Bushido for some Japanese izakaya dining.

The happy hour menu is filled with great options including skewers, sushi and Japanese tapas. We settled on sushi rolls, edamame hummus, pork belly buns and chicken skewers lightly salted.

Long gone are the days of summer vacation but at  least there's happy hour to be had. Adulthood is truly a trade off.

Tuesday

That's What She Said

The result of children playing - and very accepting attitudes on gender.

Domestic Ramblings- Teriyaki Much

Wife looking at phone with confused expression: "I just tried searching for teriyaki and Swype thought I typed 'trotsky'."

Husband: "This is truly one of the best moments of our relationship so far."

Monday

Let's Go Giants

One of the perks of the job is getting to take clients out to beautiful AT&T Park and watch the San Francisco Giants play. Many times I have gone and the weather has been downright abysmal- cold, rain, fog. Typical San Francisco weather. But today it is anything but. It's downright perfect.

Happy Birthday to the Littlez

Happy Birthday and a pre-welcome to the world to all of our friend's Littlez. A weekend truly filled with love, happiness and of course, food.

Sunday

Tava Indian Kitchen

After two rounds of breakfast cupcakes to celebrate a friend's daughter's birthday, we decided to eat a meal that did not have as one of its key ingredients, colored frosting. We headed over to Tava Indian Kitchen for some wraps and rice bowls.

Satisfying and delicious- but now we have to head to the gym to work off this goodness. Totally worth it though.

Saturday

Zombie Coffee

In preparation for a weekend filled with baby parties for friends and family, we decided to stop and get iced coffee at Zombie Runner as well as check out some new sneakers for the Husband. A coffee shop nestled in a running store- this is our kind of place!

The iced coffee is made early in the morning and put in the refrigerator so there is no need for ice which means more coffee for your buck! They also have a great selection of healthy snacks.

Cheers to a great weekend!
